Severe Weather
Hello Brookfallowers!
Last week’s snowstorm was one for the books. With relentless snowfall, high winds, and freezing temperatures, our properties across the Youngstown area were hit hard in a short amount of time. Roads disappeared, parking lots filled quickly, and walkways demanded constant attention.
Through it all, our Brookfall team stepped up in a big way. From our maintenance team to our property managers and even to our CEO, everyone stepped up to clear snow and to answer all calls.
A Tremendous Snow Removal Effort
From early mornings to late nights, and on several cases, around the clock, our maintenance and operations teams worked tirelessly to keep our communities as safe and accessible as possible. This included:
- Continuous plowing of parking lots and drive lanes
- Clearing sidewalks, entrances, and emergency access points
- Salting and de-icing to reduce slip hazards
- Responding to high-priority areas as conditions rapidly changed
Snowfall of this magnitude isn’t just about one pass with a plow, it’s an ongoing process that requires coordination, endurance, and teamwork. We’re incredibly proud of the dedication our team showed during this storm, often working in difficult and uncomfortable conditions to serve our residents.
Thank You for Your Patience
We also want to thank our residents for their patience and cooperation during the storm. Large snow events can slow down even the most prepared operations, and your understanding truly makes a difference while crews work to restore safe conditions.
How Residents Can Prepare for Future Snowstorms
While Brookfall Group is committed to maintaining the properties, resident preparedness plays an important role in overall safety. Here are a few ways you can be better prepared when major snowstorms hit:
1. Plan Ahead
- Stock up on essentials like food, water, medications, and pet supplies before the storm arrives.
- Charge phones and backup batteries in case of power outages.
2. Move Vehicles When Possible
- If advance notice is given, relocating vehicles allows plow crews to clear parking areas more efficiently and thoroughly.
3. Allow Extra Travel Time
- Snow and ice slow everything down. Give yourself extra time when commuting and avoid unnecessary travel during peak storm conditions.
4. Wear Proper Footwear
- Slip-resistant boots and warm layers go a long way in preventing injuries when navigating snowy or icy surfaces.
5. Use Caution Around Active Snow Removal
- Please keep a safe distance from plows and snow equipment. Operators may have limited visibility during active clearing.
6. Report Urgent Hazards
- If you notice dangerous icy areas or emergency access issues, report them promptly through the appropriate channels so they can be addressed.
Moving Forward Together
Severe winter weather is part of life in our region, but strong teamwork between our crews and our residents, helps us get through it safely. Brookfall Group LLC remains committed to maintaining our properties and responding quickly when winter weather strikes.
Thank you again to our hardworking team and our residents for navigating this storm together. Stay warm, stay safe, and we’ll be ready for whatever winter brings next.
